HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- The Astros have placed closer Ryan Pressly on the 15-day injured while Kyle Tucker and Chas McCormick are day-to-day, manager Dusty Baker announced Thursday.

Pressly was unavailable for the Astros wins against the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday and Wednesday due to a stiff neck. The team said neck spasms are what forced him to the injured list, retroactive to Monday, so he's eligible to be activated on September 6.

"His neck is not any better," Baker said. "It's about the same or worse, and so we can back date it three days (so he doesn't have to miss the full 15 days),and I think we have a couple of off days in between that will count too."

Seth Martinez was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land to take Pressly's spot on the 26-man roster.

Tucker was left out of Thursday's lineup with left foot soreness. Baker didn't sound overly concerned and was unaware if Tucker had or will undergo an MRI on an injury that kept him off the field for three games in May.

McCormick remains day-to-day after dislocating his right pinkie diving into first base on Wednesday.
