HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- Ryan Pressly hadn't pitched in five days before Monday's game, but he refused to use rust as an excuse for his blown save against the Orioles.

"Stuff was good," Pressly said. "It's my job to stay sharp."

Pressly started his night by freezing Adley Rutschman with a perfectly located 2-2 slider, but Ryan O'Hearn and Austin Hays singled on back-to-back pitches in front of Cedric Mullins.

The Orioles centerfielder fouled a curveball after taking one down and in. Pressly missed high with a fastball, and then threw a 91 MPH slider that Mullins sent over the Astros bullpen at 103.3 MPH.

"It's a well located pitch," Pressly said. "I'm sure he was sitting on it. He got his pitch that he wanted to hit and took advantage of it.

"It's not in the middle part of the plate. I mean, nine out of 10 times people roll that pitch over, just he went down and got it."

Monday was Pressly's sixth blown save of the season after he had just four last season, and it increased his ERA to 3.84, his highest since 2017 in Minnesota.
