Astros place closer Josh Hader on 15-day injured list with left shoulder strain

The Astros will spend at least the next two weeks without their All-Star closer.

Josh Hader was placed on the 15-day injured list with a left shoulder sprain, the team announced Tuesday. The move is retroactive to Monday, Aug. 11.

Houston also reinstated Shawn Dubin from the 15-day IL, recalled Colton Gordon from Triple A and designated Hector Neris for assignment.

Dubin wasn't exactly sharp in his return Tuesday night, giving up four runs on three hits, including two home runs and a walk in recording just one out.
