HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- Despite forecasts indicating perfect fall weather for this weekend, the roof over Minute Maid Park will be closed for the first two games of the American League Division Series against the Minnesota Twins, which is what the team prefers.

"That's what we're used to," Astros manager Dusty Baker said Friday.

The Astros played one regular season game in 2023 with an open roof, though it was open during Friday's formal workout.

"It's open because we need sun," Baker said. "They had to resod because of some of the concerts and different events they had here."

The temperature is expected to be 74 degrees with partly cloudy skies when Justin Verlander delivers the first pitch of game one on Saturday, and it is expected to be 69 degrees with partly cloudy skies for the start of game two on Sunday night.
