The Phillies needed a rally to reignite their offense at the start of game six, and they were handed a gift courtesy of home plate umpire Lance Barksdale.
With Kyle Schwarber leading off the game and facing a 1-2 count, Framber Valdez fired in a fastball that looked to get plenty of plate, even in the eyes of Schwarber, who took two full steps towards the Philly dugout before realizing that he had not been rung up.

The Astros, and much of MLB Twitter, couldn’t believe the call, and Schwarber was able to work a walk thanks to the gift from Barksdale.
It didn’t come back to bite the Astros, as the Phillies were unable to score in the inning.
