Reds sweep Astros after shutout in Cincinnati

The Reds broke out the brooms in Cincinnati on Thursday afternoon, promptly sending the Astros back to the H with a three-game sweep.

Perhaps the worst of it was rookie starter Spencer Arrighetti's regrettable outing Wednesday, when he lasted just 2/3 innings after giving up nine earned runs on six hits, three walks and a homer.

Cincinnati won that game 12-5, though Houston hardly had a chance after the first inning.

The Astros' main issue was at the plate, where they managed just four hits and left seven runners on base. They were 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position.

The Astros return to Minute Maid Park on Friday night to host the Arizona Diamondbacks over the weekend.
