Astros rookie Cam Smith rakes with 2 HRs in blowout against A's
The Astros responded to Monday night's walk-off loss to the A's with a dominant performance in Tuesday night's 13-3 blowout.
One of the major highlights was watching rookie Cam Smith, who on Saturday hit the first walk-off hit of his entire baseball career, this time go deep twice for the first time in his career.
In the second inning, Smith hit a solo home run 415 feet to center field on a changeup from JP Sears. Then in the fourth inning, Smith took Sears deep again, this time sending a 77 mph slider 431 feet to left center field.
Payne and Pendergast talked Wednesday morning about how the Astros are pulling off these wins despite some of their bad luck throughout the season.
