Astros blanked 5-0 for second straight loss at Phillies
Justin Verlander gave up four runs in five innings and the Astros could not score at all in Tuesday night's 5-0 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.
The four runs given up by Verlander all came in the third inning, when Trea Turner hit an RBI-single, and later Nick Castellanos homered to center field for a three-run shot.
It was all the Phillies needed to beat the Astros, who went scoreless with six hits and seven runners left on base. Houston was 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position.
The teams resume play Wednesday at 3:05 p.m. CT with Spencer Arrigheti on the mound for Houston and Taijuan Walker starting for Philadelphia.
