(SportsRadio 610) -- Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez is back in the lineup after missing two games on the injured list due to Major League Baseball's health and safety protocols.

Alvarez will hit in his usual No. 4 spot Friday when the Astros face the Rays in Tampa Bay for a rematch of last year's American League Championship Series.

Alvarez landed on the injured list due to the protocols for the second time this season earlier in the week. He also missed the start of summer camp last year after testing positive for the coronavirus.

Adding Alvarez's bat to the lineup gives the Astros (13-12) brings a .309 batting average with 14 RBI, which ranks second on the team.

Lance McCullers Jr. will take the mound for Houston. Ryan Yarbrough will start for Tampa (13-13).
