Yordan Alvarez takes live batting practice, 'really close' to Astros return
Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez appears really close to returning to the Astros' lineup after missing nearly a month of action with a hand injury.
Alvarez took live batting practice Friday at Daikin Park, just one day after he and manager Joe Espada indicated he would be returning to the lineup soon without a rehab assignment.
The live batting practice, just like anytime Alvarez steps in the batter's box, was a must-see event.
In one instance, Alvarez crushed a homer into the right field seats, prompting Mauricio Dubón and Jose Altuve to get up as if they had seen enough.
