(SportsRadio 610) -- Former Rockets big Kelly Olynyk is signing with the Detroit Pistons in free agency, according to media reports.

Olynyk has agreed to a three-year, $37 million deal with the Pistons, his agent Jeff Schwartz told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Olynyk was traded to the Rockets last season from the Miami Heat in a deal for Victor Oladipo, whose contract was also expiring.

For the Rockets, Olynyk averaged 19 points 8.4 rebounds and shot 39 percent from 3-point range in 27 games.

The Rockets are reportedly working to complete a multi-year deal with free agent center Daniel Thies, according to The Athletic's Kelly Iko.

Theis does not have the range or shooting ability of Olynyk, but he brings an intense defensive presence and contributes offensively.

Theis played for the Boston Celtics last year before he was traded to the Chicago Bulls. He averaged 14.1 points and eight rebounds per 36 minutes for the season.
