'No hard feelings' from Giannis Antetokounmpo after flagrant foul leads to Amen Thompson ejection
With just over four minutes left to play in Tuesday night's game between the Milwaukee Bucks and Houston Rockets, Giannis Antetokounmpo drove to the basket and was fouled hard by Amen Thompson.
As Antetokounmpo rose toward the basket, Thompson aggressively swatted at the ball, then followed through by oddly pulling Antetokounmpo by the neck.
The officials quickly issued Thompson a flagrant 2 foul and he was ejected.
Houston was able to pull out the win without him in the end, beating Milwaukee 100-97.
After the game, Antetokounmpo was asked about the foul. Antetokounmpo said he admired hard-nose play and held no hard feelings toward Thompson.
"People just play hard," Antetokounmpo said. "At the end of the day, you don't want to have a league that's soft. I love guys that play hard. I love that are competitors. I'm one of those guys. Sometimes, competitive nature gets in the way of making the best decision, the best judgment at the time.
"I feel like he wanted to make a hard foul, but he grabbed my neck. But there's no hard feelings. I understand like, when you're a competitor you're going to make mistakes like that. I love it. I love playing this way. I don't have no hard feelings against him."
