Houston Rockets to open 2023-24 season in Orlando

(SportsRadio 610) - The Houston Rockets enter the 2023 season with a vastly improved roster from a season ago, giving many fans high expectations of what is to come.

On Thursday afternoon, we got our first glimpse of that, with the full NBA schedule being revealed.

New starting point guard Fred VanVleet and the Rockets will begin the season with a visit to the Orlando Magic on Oct. 25. After taking on the Magic, Houston will face Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs in San Antonio before returning home to host the Golden State Warriors in their home opener on Oct. 29.

On top of that, Houston will take part in the first-ever NBA in-season tournament, starting with a home matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans on Nov. 10. The Rockets will also take on the Clippers (away), Nuggets (home) and Mavericks (away) in group play.

The tournament will then move to Las Vegas for the semi-finals and finals on December 7 and December 9.
