The NBA has suspended Jalen Green and Jae'Sean Tate for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers after they were found to have left the bench area during Friday's on-court altercation between Garrison Mathews and Malik Monk.
Mathews was fined $35,000 for instigating the fourth quarter altercation, while Tari Eason was fined $30,000 for escalating the altercation and making inadvertent contact with an official. Both were ejected from Friday's game.
The suspension of Green and Tate will test the Rockets backcourt depth on Sunday with Kevin Porter Jr likely to miss the game with a left foot contusion. Green, Tate, Porter, and Eric Gordon have played the majority of the Rockets guard minutes over the last four games.
Green is one of three Rockets to have appeared in the 42 games of the season, and he leads the team in scoring, averaging 21.5 points per game. Tate has been limited to seven games due to a right ankle injury.
