HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- After Rockets practice ended on Tuesday afternoon, rookie guard Jalen Green's work started. Assistant coach John Lucas led the 19-year old through a shooting workout on the main floor inside Toyota Center with player development coaches Barbara Turner and Gerald Green along with Director of Athletic Performance, Willie Cruz looking on.

"Jalen is progressing," Rockets head coach Stephen Silas said during the workout. "He's out shooting right now, basically just spot (up) shots, but moving along."

Green has missed five straight games after suffering the hamstring strain in the second quarter of the Rockets win over the Chicago Bulls on November 24. On Friday, Silas said Green's status remained week-to-week, so he'll miss games this week against the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks.

Silas said Tuesday's workout, which last longer than 20 minutes and evolved into coming off screens, is the most Green has done since the injury happened, but the team would wait until he is 100 percent to have him return to game action.

The second overall pick in the draft started the Rockets first 18 games of the season, averaging 14 points in 30.2 minutes on 38 percent shooting.
