The Rockets won their eighth straight game Saturday night against the Utah Jazz, led by Jalen Green's 41 points and 10 3-pointers from Fred VanVleet.
Houston cruised to a 147-119 victory over Utah, powered by a season-best 27 made 3-pointers.
The Rockets (35-35) are now just one game behind the Golden State Warriors for the Western Conference 10th seed and final play-in spot, with just 12 games to go.
They will play Monday night against the Portland Trail Blazers without Jabari Smith Jr.
Smith and Kris Dunn were both ejected five seconds into the second quarter for a fight in which punches were thrown. Players and officials got between them to prevent the scuffle from escalating.
Dunn was suspended for two games, while Smith was suspended for one game.
