H-Town Hoops Podcast: Rockets have options at No. 3, but no obvious player to draft
The Houston Rockets were fortunate landing the No. 3 overall pick in the NBA Draft after their lottery odds flipped last month.
They are not so fortunate to land the pick in a year where it is not so obvious who to select in that spot, or if any of these prospects have star potential. Typically, a team is looking to draft a special player at No. 3. But in this draft, that potential special quality is harder to identify.
For one, many of the top prospects are international players. NBA teams are really having to test their international scouting due to the talent in this draft class.
Yet the player most commonly mocked to Houston is Reed Sheppard, an American guard from Kentucky.
On the H-Town Hoops podcast, Brandon Scott and Adam Spolane discuss who the right pick would be, if there is one; break down potential trade targets; and react to Jabari Smith Jr. acknowledging disappointment in his first two seasons; and NBA Finals predictions.
