Rockets to sign DeMarcus Cousins

Rockets will reportedly sign four-time All Star DeMarcus Cousins to a one-year contract

HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- The Rockets and former All Star DeMarcus Cousins are nearing an agreement on a one-year, non-guaranteed contract, the Athletic reported Monday.

Cousins, 30, was selected to four straight All Star games as a member of the Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Pelicans, but multiple serious injuries have kept him off the floor the last two seasons. He tore his achilles in a game against the Rockets on January 26, 2018 and did not return to floor until January 18 the next year.

The fifth selection of the 2010 draft averaged 16.3 points over 30 regular season games with the Golden State Warriors in 2019, but a quad injury held him out most of the postseason. He scored 8.3 points per game during the NBA Finals, but missed all of last season with a torn ACL.

Over the course of his career, Cousins has averaged 21 points and 11 rebounds per game. He was a second team All NBA selection in 2016 and 2016.
