HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) - Danuel House knew the questions were coming, so before taking one he got the obvious out of the way.
"I'd like to start off by apologizing to my team and the organization and the owner for the mishap that happened in the Bubble," House said.
The NBA kicked House of the Disney World Bubble after he allowed an unauthorized guest into his hotel room. He was a late scratch from game three of the Rockets conference semifinal series against the Los Angeles Lakers for personal reasons and he took home the distinction of being the only player removed from the Bubble after game four.
"I'm focused, it's behind me, it's in the past, new year, new season," House added. "I'd like to deeply apologize to the fans also. If you felt I let you down, sincere apologies from me Danuel House Jr. to everyone."
Wednesday is the first time House has spoken publicly since leaving Orlando. He says he already addressed his teammates and they seem to have put the incident behind them.
"He just has to play basketball," Rockets guard Eric Gordon said. "We look forward to just having him here and being apart of training camp, and he's just got to come out and play. I wouldn't say he needs to worry about anything."
In his first full season with the Rockets, House, 27, averaged 10.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in 30.4 minutes. He said he went to the gym as soon as he returned from Orlando and started working with Rockets assistant coach John Lucas once he returned.
"You live and learn," House said. "You take the bad and you just flip it to good and make the energy work for you."
Gerald Green, who officially re-joined the Rockets on Tuesday, has known House since middle school, and believes he will turn this bad experience into a positive.
"I expect him to have probably the best season that he's had in his career this year with Rockets," Green said. "I really believe that and the things he's able to do on both ends of the court, offense and defense, that's something that any team, especially this team is really gonna benefit off of."
Wednesday was the second day the Rockets were able to hold individual workouts. The team is scheduled to holds its first group workout on Sunday and will open the preseason on December 11 in Chicago.
