The team is also providing free parking at Toyota Center throughout the voting process

HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- The Toyota Center in downtown Houston will be open to any registered voter in Harris County for early voting in October and on election day, Nov. 3.

Harris County is partnering with the Rockets to provide a voting center for the upcoming presidential election, according to a statement released by the team and county clerk's office.

"Our elections this November will be historic -- not only because we are electing the President of the United States, but also because we must meet the challenge as a community to ensure that every Harris County voter can cast their vote safely," Harris County Clerk Chris Hollins said in a statement.

Hollins added that the county needs more voting centers than ever to accommodate record voter turnout.

The Rockets partnered with the nonpartisan group "I am a voter." to help energize civic engagement.

The team is also partnering with Houston First to provide free parking at Toyota Center throughout the voting process.

Early voting runs Oct. 13 through Oct. 30.
