Rockets' Jalen Green named Western Conference Player of the Week
Not only have the Rockets won five straight and seven of their last eight games, but third-year guard Jalen Green has been excellent in the process.
Green was named NBA Western Conference Player of the Week for March 11-17.
In that time, Green averaged 26.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists to lead Houston to a 3-0 record. Green's improvement extends beyond the past week, though. The month of March has been Green's best of the season, by far.
Green is averaging 24.6 points per game, shooting 49 percent from the floor and 37.3 percent from 3 in eight games this month. By comparison, February was arguably his worst shooting month. Then, Green averaged 15.8 points on 36.8 percent from the field, including 26 percent from 3.
That is to say, the growth this month has been tremendous, especially with star center Alperen Şengün likely out for the remainder of the season with knee and ankle injuries.
