HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- Rockets guard Jalen Green closed out his rookie campaign in style with a 41-point explosion on Sunday against the Atlanta Hawks, and on Monday he was named the NBA's Rookie of the Month for games played in March and April.

Green averaged 22.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.2 assists over the season's final two months on 48.4 percent shooting from the field and 39.5 percent from behind the three-point line. He hit the 20-point mark in 15-of-22 games, and exceeded 30 points in five straight from March 28 through April 5 which was the second-longest streak by a rookie going back 50 years.

The Rockets selected Green, 20, with the second pick of the 2021 draft and he's the sixth player in Rockets history to win Rookie of the Month, joining Ralph Sampson, Hakeem Olajuwon, Steve Francis, Yao Ming, and Scola, and the first since Scola in February 2008.
