HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- The Rockets closed the first of what could be a myriad a trades before next week's deadline after agreeing to trade P.J. Tucker to the Milwaukee Bucks.
The trade, first reported by ESPN, has the Rockets sending Tucker, Rodions Kurucs, a first round pick and a second round pick to the Milwaukee Bucks for guard D.J. Augustin, forward D.J. Wilson and two first round picks.
Milwaukee will send its 2021 and 2023 first round picks to the Rockets while getting back the 2022 first round pick the Rockets acquired from the Cleveland Cavaliers in the James Harden trade along with the Rockets 2021 second round pick.
Tucker, 35, averaged 4.4 points in 32 games with the Rockets this season. He left the team last week as he awaited a trade. Kurucs played sparingly with the Rockets after being acquired in the Harden trade two months ago.
Augustin, 33, played in 37 games with the Bucks this season, scoring 6.7 points per game. He's in the first year of a three-year contract and is guaranteed $7 million next season. The final year of the deal is non-guaranteed.
Wilson, 25, is a 6'10 forward who has struggled to find a role with the Bucks. He has played in just 12 games this season, averaging just 3.6 points and 2.1 rebounds. He's appeared in just two games since February 6.
