(SportsRadio 610) -- With uncertainty at the most important position in football, the Texans selected former Stanford quarterback Davis Mills with the No. 67 overall pick on Friday night.
Davis joins a quarterback group that also features Deshaun Watson, Tyrod Taylor and Ryan Finley.
Watson, however, is in the midst of legal troubles with more than 20 women alleging sexual misconduct or assault in civil lawsuits. He's also requested a trade.
Whether Watson plays for the Texans again is unclear.
So they are rolling with three new quarterbacks on the roster -- Taylor signed in free agency; Finley brought over via trade from the Bengals; and now Davis through the draft.
Davis joined Texans Draft Live with Marc Vandermeer, John Harris and Clint Stoerner after he was selected. He told them his best traits are his leadership ability and quality as a teammate.
"I believe I'm a winner," Mills said. "I just love competing. I feel like my leadership ability in college will translate into the NFL and I just can't wait to get in and earn the respect of my teammates by putting my head down and getting to work and then just going out there and having fun and playing ball."
Here is a look at Mills' draft profile from NFL.com:
"There isn't going to be an excessive amount of tape on Mills, but teams will see a player with below-average mobility, good size and plenty of arm talent for passing attacks looking to open up the entire field. Mills is still in the developmental stage as it pertains to his ability to command the offense and play chess against coverages and blitz looks. He's made for a play-action attack that can promote his timing as a passer and help keep him protected.
"The injury background and lack of experience are potential stumbling blocks, but the talent is better than the production and worthy of a middle-round pick for development as a good backup to low-end starter."
