Texans GM Nick Caserio was careful not to be too revealing in his interview with Payne and Pendergast, but there is plenty of reading between the lines to be done.
Here are my three biggest takeaways from the interview:
1. Caserio does not appear to be miserable on the job, as had been speculated recently by someone supposedly close to him.
2. The Texans are definitely trading Deshaun Watson. Caserio hasn't changed his stance on Watson, and his desire to keep him with the Texans. But based on how he diverted the subject to the entire team when asked directly about Watson, it does appear the writing is on the wall.
3. And finally, it appears this regime is going to focus on players' strengths, rather than trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. That seemed to be a theme of the Bill O'Brien era, valuing versatility, perhaps to a fault. Caserio talked about making the most of what players do well, and that's a refreshing approach.
