The Texans are advancing to the AFC divisional round after defeating the Los Angeles Chargers 32-12 in the wild-card round at NRG Stadium on Saturday.
It was a rough start for Houston, which trailed 6-0 after the first quarter. Then the Texans scored 20 points unanswered, 10 points apiece in the second and third quarters.
C.J. Stroud found Nico Collins for a 13-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Then shortly before halftime, Ka'imi Fairbairn hit a 41-yard field goal to put Houston up 10-6. The third quarter was all Texans, including a 37-yard field goal and a pick-six by Eric Murray.
Justin Herbert found Ladd McConkey for an 86-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, but the Texans blocked the point after attempt and returned it for two points.
Joe Mixon ran in a 17-yard touchdown late in the game, when it was mostly out of reach.
Herbert, who threw just three interceptions in the regular season, was picked off four times by the Texans. In addition to the Murray pick-six, Kamari Lassiter had an interception. Derek Stingley Jr. had two interceptions against Herbert.
