Sheldon Rankins is expected to be back with the Houston Texans on a new two-year deal, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported Monday.
The new deal includes $12 million guaranteed for his return to Houston as a key part of its defensive line.
Rankins first played for the Texans in 2023 before signing with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2024. He returned to Houston in 2025 and was instrumental in the Texans' best defense ever.
The move follows the Texans signing All-Pro defensive end Danielle Hunter to a massive one-year, $40 million extension and likely precedes an upcoming extension for their other All-Pro defensive end Will Anderson Jr.
