Determining appropriate level of concern for Texans' secondary
All four of the Texans' base secondary positions have valid question marks.
The safeties dealt with either injuries, underperformance, or some combination of both. But Jimmie Ward and Jalen Pitre are expected to return as starters.
Houston will have to replace cornerback Steven Nelson, so it signed Jeff Okudah and C.J. Henderson in free agency. Both players were top-10 draft picks in the 2020 NFL Draft, but have come far from living up to the expectations.
Third-year cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. appears to be the best of them all at this point, but he missed eight games as a rookie and six games in his second season due to injury, on top of his injury history at LSU.
Should the Texans' secondary be more of a concern with the NFL Draft approaching? Landry Locker and Brandon Scott discussed it on In The Loop.
