Texans take down 49ers 26-15 after jumping out to early lead

Don't count the Texans out just yet.

Despite coming off a short week after losing on Monday Night Football, the Texans responded with a 26-15 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Houston thoroughly outplayed San Francisco, outgaining the Niners 475 yards to 223 yards. The Texans had 23 first downs, compared to the Niners' 12.

Perhaps most notably, quarterback C.J. Stroud stayed upright and was never sacked. It's the first time he's gone an entire game without being sacked since the playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens his rookie season.

Stroud was able to play one of his best games, going 30-of-39 for 318 yards, two touchdowns, one interception and a 106.6 passer rating. With top wide receiver Nico Collins out for this game with a concussion, Xavier Hutchinson stepped up to lead the team in receiving yards (69). He also had a touchdown, as did rookie receiver Jayden Higgins.

The Texans are back next Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
