The Texans are one step closer to another AFC South title after their 20-12 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
It was not always pretty, but thanks to a dominant defensive performance and a timely fake punt, Houston finished on top. Derek Stingley Jr. recorded two interceptions, while rookie safety Calen Bullock also had a pick against Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
Houston's pass rush was also effective with Miami down to its backup tackles. Danielle Hunter had 1.5 sacks, while Will Anderson Jr. chipped in another. Remarkably, Stingley added two tackles for loss to his stat total.
The Texans won the game despite being outgained 224 to 181. C.J. Stroud was 18 of 26 for 131 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns, both to top wide receiver Nico Collins.
They can clinch back-to-back AFC South titles with an Indianapolis Colts loss to the Denver Broncos later Sunday.
