Texans take down Panthers 20-3 in preseason game at NRG Stadium

HOUSTON - The Texans struck first in Saturday's preseason game against the Carolina Panthers and never looked back.

On Houston's second drive of the game, the offense marched 60 yards on 11 plays to score on a short fourth-and-goal touchdown pass from C.J. Stroud to Nico Collins.

The Texans never trailed in this game, leading 10-3 at halftime after trading field goals with Carolina. Houston opened the second half with another field goal drive. Then in the fourth quarter, the Texans scored on a short field thanks to Damon Arnette's interception landing them on Carolina's six-yard line.

It took just three plays before running back British Brooks punched it in from one yard out.

The Texans are now 1-1 in the preseason, which they wrap up next week on the road against the Detroit Lions.
