Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik interviewed virtually for the New York Jets' head coaching vacancy, the Jets announced Thursday.
It is the first known head coach interview for Slowik in this hiring cycle. He was a popular candidate for teams last offseason after his first year calling plays for the Texans.
Houston's offense took a step back in year two, but that did not discourage the Jets hearing him out. The Jets are looking for a new head coach after firing Robert Saleh during the regular season.
For what it's worth, the Jets' offense scored more touchdowns than the Texans' this season (40 to 38). The Jets are also 2-0 against Houston since Slowik took over the Texans' offense.
