(SportsRadio 610) - Former Texans standout wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is joining the AFC South rival Tennessee Titans on a two-year, $26 million involving incentives.
Hopkins was released by the Arizona Cardinals in May after spending three seasons with the team. He'd spent his previous seven seasons with the Texans before being traded following the 2019 season.
The Cardinals released Hopkins as a salary cap casualty after failing to secure a trade for him. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, there are $3 million available in incentives each year of Hopkins' deal with Tennessee. If he reaches 95 catches, 1,050 yards and 10 touchdowns, he gets all of it.
This means the Texans would face Hopkins twice a year for the next two seasons, if he's healthy and available.
The Texans face the Titans twice over the last three weeks of the season in December. Their first matchup is Dec. 17 at Tennessee, then the regular season finale at NRG Stadium on New Year's Eve.
