For the first time in franchise history, the Houston Texans went on the road against the Baltimore Ravens and came away with a win.
Not only did the Texans win Sunday's game against a shorthanded Ravens squad, playing without quarterback Lamar Jackson and a host of key defensive players. Houston dominated with a decisive 44-10 victory.
The game was not particularly close after the first two quarters. The Texans scored on their opening drive with 10 plays for 67 yards ending in a touchdown for Xavier Hutchinson, the third-year receiver who recorded the first two touchdowns of his NFL career.
Houston added a 17-0 second quarter to really separate itself from Baltimore and the second half was no more competitive than the first.
C.J. Stroud was 23-for-27 with 244 passing yards and four touchdowns, just the second time in his career he's thrown for as many scores. Stroud also had a career-high 30-yard run on a scramble that helped set up one of Houston's second-quarter touchdowns.
Eight different Texans players had at least one reception and three of them scored touchdowns, including the first career touchdown for rookie receiver Jaylin Noel and one for Nico Collins.
Meanwhile, the Texans defense held Derrick Henry to just 33 yards on 15 carries. Jalen Pitre picked off Cooper Rush twice and Kamari Lassiter intercepted him late in the game for good measure.
With the win, Houston improves to 2-3 headed into the bye week, after which it travels to face the Seattle Seahawks.
