HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) - A damning article depicting Texans interim general manager Jack Easterby as a con artist, who had players followed, dropped on Thursday morning.
One of the key items in the article is the allegation that Easterby is the person responsible for sending All-Pro wide receiver to the Arizona Cardinals in an offseason trade that saw Houston receive only oft-injured running back David Johnson and a second-round pick.
According to the article written by Jenny Vrentas and Greg Bishop of Sports Illustrated, sources said Easterby was "the first, and most persistent, advocate for the team’s trading the receiver out of Houston."
One person recalled hearing Easterby tell a small group of people on multiple occasions, "we need to move on from that person," without calling Hopkins by name.
Hopkins has 1,019 yards and five touchdowns through 12 games with the Cardinals this season.
Johnson has 452 yards on the ground, 161 receiving yards and five total touchdowns.
