Texans expected to sign veteran RB Nick Chubb: report

The Houston Texans are expected to sign four-time Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb, pending a physical, NFL Network reported Sunday.

The deal could happen as soon as Monday, according to the NFL Network report.

Chubb, 29, has spent his entire seven-year career with the Cleveland Browns, where he went to the Pro Bowl in four straight seasons from 2019 to 2022, the last of which he was named second-team All-Pro.

But he's been limited by injuries since then, playing in just 10 games the last two seasons. Chubb suffered a torn MCL and damaged ACL in 2023.

Last season, Chubb left the game in Week 15 against the Kansas City Chiefs with a broken foot.

For the Texans, Chubb could provide depth behind 28-year-old Joe Mixon, who missed voluntary practices last week and was reportedly in a walking boot from his own offseason workouts.
