In addition, the team announced Thursday night they have re-upped defensive lineman Nathan Shepherd.

Martin, 26, started 14 games for the Texans last season, notching four sacks and 23 total tackles (including one safety). The Temple alum was originally a sixth-round pick of the Seahawks in 2018, but went to Houston in 2019 in the deal that sent Jadaveon Clowney to Seattle.

For his career, Martin has 13.5 sacks and 57 total tackles in 61 games for Seattle and Houston.

Conklin, 26, was the Vikings’ fifth-round pick in 2018 and had just 32 catches for 329 yards in his first three years. However, he exploded in 2021 for 61 catches for 593 yards and three touchdowns, a line better than the Jets’ overall production from their top three tight ends combined in 2021.

He continues a revamp at the tight end position that also saw the Jets sign ex-Bengal C.J. Uzomah, whose addition was officially announced Thursday morning.

Shepherd, a third-round pick in 2018, has played in 56 games for Gang Green, registering 71 tackles (nine for loss), 27 QB hits, and 4.5 sacks. He played a career-high 495 snaps on defense last year, registering 28 tackles and eight QB hits.
