Joe Mixon, Stefon Diggs lead Texans past Colts in season opener

Texans newcomers Joe Mixon and Stefon Diggs led them to victory Sunday in their season opener against the Indianapolis Colts.

Houston managed a narrow 29-27 victory over its division foe behind 159 rushing yards on 30 carries, including one for a touchdown, by Mixon. Meanwhile, two of the six catches by Diggs were for touchdowns as the Texans took an early lead in the AFC South.

The Tennessee Titans lost 24-17 to the Chicago Bears, while the Miami Dolphins rallied to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 20-17.

Mixon and Diggs weren't the only ones to shine for the Texans. Nico Collins had six catches for 117 yards, including three of the most critical plays of the game.

Rookie safety Calen Bullock also intercepted a pass by Anthony Richardson, who was just 9-for-19, but had some explosive plays both throwing and passing.

The Texans host the Bears in their home opener next week on Sunday Night Football.
