Texans lose to Packers 24-22 on last-second field goal

The Texans lost to the Green Bay Packers 24-22 after a last-second field goal Sunday at Lambeau Field.

Brandon McManus nailed a 45-yard field goal as time expired and the Texans (5-2) were unable to pull out the victory. Both of Houston's losses have now come on the road against NFC North opponents. The Texans lost in week three at the Minnesota Vikings.

This one Houston lost despite winning the time of possession and turnover battles. Joe Mixon ran for a game-high 115 yards on 25 carries with a pair of touchdowns, but the Texans could not get a consistent passing game going.

It was statistically one of C.J. Stroud's worst games, going just 10-of-21 for 86 passing yards and a 58.8 passer rating. Much of that was about him being under constant pressure and the front's inability to pick it up.

Defensively, the Texans had their moments. Rookie safety Calen Bullock recorded his third interception of the season, the most of any rookie this year. Linebacker Neville Hewitt also intercepted a Jordan Love pass that was deflected by Jalen Pitre. Both Bullock and Hewitt had increased roles due to the injuries of Jimmie Ward, Azeez Al-Shaair and Henry To'oTo'o.

The Texans return to NRG Stadium next Sunday to host the AFC South rival Indianapolis Colts, who they defeated in week one.
