The Patriots have signed their biggest name of the offseason, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter. Wide receiver Stefon Diggs will be a new target for quarterback Drake Maye, and looks to have a spot in Foxborough for years to come.
New England signed the free-agent to a three-year, $69 million deal, according to Schefter. The contract includes $26 million guaranteed.
Diggs, 31, visited Foxborough last week but reportedly left meetings with the Patriots without a contract signed. The four-time Pro Bowl receiver tore his ACL in Week 8 with the Houston Texans in November. He was on pace for at least 1,000 receiving yards before the injury ended his year.
He started his career in Minnesota, but was traded to the Buffalo Bills in 2020, where he led the league with 127 catches and 1,535 receiving yards that year.
