(SportsRadio 610) - Less than one month since claiming him off waivers from the Arizona Cardinals, the Texans are waiving running back Eno Benjamin, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Texans acquired Benjamin via waivers from the Cardinals on Nov. 15 after he'd rushed 70 times for 299 yards in 10 games this season.
With the Texans, Benjamin played in two games, rushing it three times for just one yard. He'd been inactive for the first couple of games after being claimed off waivers. Benjamin was a seventh-round draft pick by the Cardinals in 2020.
This comes as the Texans are likely to be without their lead back, rookie Dameon Pierce, who suffered a mild ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Benjamin's release and Pierce's injury likely means more touches for veteran backups Dare Ogunbowale and Rex Burkhead when the Texans host the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday.
