(SportsRadio 610) - After three seasons as the Texans top wide receiver, Brandin Cooks has a new team.
The Texans are trading Cooks just up Interstate 45 to the Dallas Cowboys for a fifth-round pick this year and a sixth-round pick in 2024, ESPN first reported.
For the Texans, it clears their most significant salary off the books, since Cooks was in the first season of a two-year, $39.7 million extension ($36 million guaranteed) signed last year.
They will also need a true No. 1 receiver. Houston has signed veterans Robert Woods from the Titans and Noah Brown from the Cowboys, but will need more than that at receiver.
For the Cowboys, it adds a dynamic receiving option on an offense led by Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and Tony Pollard.
