Texans place star receiver Nico Collins on injured reserve

Texans star wide receiver Nico Collins will miss at least four games after being placed on the injured reserve list Wednesday.

The team announced the move just three days after Collins, the league's leading receiver in yards, left Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills with a hamstring injury. It appeared to happen on a 67-yard touchdown pass from C.J. Stroud to Collins in the first quarter.

In a series of corresponding moves, the Texans are signing wide receiver Jared Wayne to the practice squad and bringing back tight end Teagan Quitoriano to the active roster from the Chicago Bears' practice squad.

Collins' 567 receiving yards leads the NFL, as well as his 27 catches for first downs. Only four receivers have been targeted more. Without Collins, the Texans will rely more on Stefon Diggs, Tank Dell, Robert Woods and Xavier Hutchinson as their top receivers.
