(SportsRadio 610) -- With Jeff Driskel's signing, the Texans have added their fifth quarterback to the roster.

That makes for a crowded quarterback room with Deshaun Watson, Tyrod Taylor, Ryan Finley, rookie Davis Mills and now Driskel.

Of course, the expectation is Watson likely will not play again for the Texans, whether he's traded, suspended, decides not to play or some combination of the three.

Taylor is likely the Texans' starter in 2020, but general manager Nick Caserio and head coach David Culley have stressed competition at all positions.

Driskel, a former sixth-round pick by the 49ers in 2016, will play for the Texans on a one-year deal with a maximum value of $2.5 million. He played in just three games and started one for the Denver Broncos last year.

He completed 35 of 64 pass attempts for 432 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. For his career, Driskel has a 58.6 completion percentage with 2,120 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Taylor is playing on a one-year deal worth up to $5.5 million with $2.5 million guaranteed. Finley, who was brought over in a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals, will play for $850,000.
