The Texans have agreed to a contract extension with All-Pro cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. to make him the highest-paid defensive back in the NFL.
Stingley is expected to sign a three-year, $90 million that includes $89 million guaranteed, multiple outlets reported Monday morning.
The Texans' No. 3 overall pick in 2022, Stingley has shown promise each season, but managed to stay healthy all of 2024 and earn a first team All-Pro selection. He is the first cornerback in franchise history to be named first team All-Pro.
Stingley started all 17 games, recording five interceptions, which matched his total from the previous season.
