HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- Tight end Jordan Akins is among the Texans' inactive players in Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Akins has been in the concussion protocol since taking a hit to the head from Vikings safety Harrison Smith in last week's game at NRG Stadium.
Akins did not return to the game. Smith was tossed and fined for the hit.
Also inactive for the Texans are inside linebacker Benardrick McKinney, wide receiver Keke Coutee, cornerback Cornell Armstrong, running back Buddy Howell, linebacker Peter Kalambayi and offensive tackle Charlie Heck.
Without Akins, expect to see more of Darren Fells. Akins is the Texans' second-leading receiver with 168 yards on 14 catches.
Expect to see more of Dylan Cole with McKinney's absence. McKinney, the Texans' second-leading tackler with 38 combined, is dealing with a shoulder injury.
