HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- Texans cornerback Bradley Roby left Sunday's game early with what the team reported to be a knee injury.
Roby did not return to the game, which Houston lost to Green Bay 35-20, and the Texans' secondary proceeded to give up a career-high 196 receiving yards to the Packers' top receiver Davante Adams.
Texans interim head coach Romeo Crennel said Monday morning that Roby was having both his knee and ankle evaluated, but their top corner's status is unclear.
"I'm hoping that it's short term," Crennel said. "They looked at the ankle and the knee and they are looking at it today. I don't have an update on what they found, if they found anything. We'll probably find out later this evening or this afternoon what the deal is."
Roby is in his second season with the Texans after re-signing this offseason for three years, $31.5 million. He has been their top cornerback since arriving last season, covering the opponents' top wide receiver in most cases.
Without Roby, and with Gareon Conley on the injured reserve after unsuccessful rehab from offseason ankle surgery, the Texans are relying more on Vernon Hargeaves III, and backups Phillip Gaines and Keion Crossen.
Roby has the Texans' (1-6) only interception of the season through seven games..
