The Texans selected cornerback Kamari Lassiter with the 42nd overall pick in the NFL Draft. Lassiter was a two-time national champion with the Georgia Bulldogs in 2021 and 2022. He was named second-team All-SEC last season.
Last season, Lassiter led the Bulldogs with eight pass breakups and tallied 37 total tackles. He started in every game for Georgia over the past two seasons. He played high school football in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where he was a four-star prospect.
Lassiter joins a group that includes veterans Derek Stingley Jr., Jeff Okudah and C.J. Henderson.
