Texans draft WR Jayden Higgins with 34th overall pick

The Texans added a new weapon to their arsenal for quarterback C.J. Stroud.

With the 34th overall pick in the NFL draft, Houston selected wide receiver Jayden Higgins, who played college football at Iowa State.

Higgins is the first of potentially five picks the Texans could make in rounds two and three of the draft Friday.

With the pick, they address a considerable need in the wide receiver room, where they lost Stefon Diggs to free agency and likely Tank Dell to injury.

Higgins, at 6'4", 214 pounds, is a big body target for Stroud. Last season, Higgins was second-team All-Big 12, ranking 10th in the FBS with 87 catches (1,183 yards). He led Iowa State with nine receiving touchdowns.
