Texans Drop Home Opener Against Ravens, 33-16

HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- The Texans turned the ball over twice and failed to force any of themselves as the Ravens beat them 33-16 in the home opener at NRG Stadium.

Houston falls to 0-2 on the season after losing to the Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs, largely considered two of the best teams in the AFC and all of football.


On Sunday, the Texans played better than they did against the Chiefs, but not nearly well enough to compete with the Ravens.

Baltimore took a 10-0 lead in the second quarter and led 20-10 at halftime. The Texans never got any closer in the second half.

The Texans were trailing 13-7 in the second quarter when wide receiver Keke Coutee fumbled the ball, which was recovered and returned for a touchdown by Ravens linebacker L.J. Fort.

Houston never fully recovered from that play, though they cut the deficit to 10 points at halftime.

The Ravens outscored the Texans 13-6 in the second half.
